Daniel Jackson, Ph.D., is a fictional character in the Canadian-American military science fiction television series Stargate SG-1, which is about a military team exploring the galaxy via a network of alien transportation devices. Daniel Jackson is a civilian archeologist and linguist, who works with the Stargate military project and therefore holds no military ranking.
