National Historic Sites of Canada (French: Lieux historiques nationaux du Canada) are places that have been designated by the Minister of the Environment of Canada, on the advice of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada (HSMBC), as being of national historic significance.Parks Canada, a federal agency, manages the National Historic Sites program. As of April 2012, there are 965 National Historic Sites of Canada, of which 167 are administered by Parks Canada; the remainder are administered and/or owned by other levels of government or private entities.
