The national cricket teams of India and Pakistan have been competing against each other in One Day Internationals (ODIs) since their first meeting on 1 October 1978. The have played each other on 122 occasions (excluding five matches which were abandoned without a ball bowled), Pakistan have won the most matches with 70, India have won 48 and four finished as a no result. In addition to the series of matches that occur when India tour Pakistan (or vice versa), they also have competed against each other in the Cricket World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy, although, because of the structure of these events, they are not guaranteed to play each other even if they both take part.
