High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context" is a joint interdisciplinary undertaking of researchers at Heidelberg University. It was started in October 2007, and extended in 2012, as part of the Excellence Initiative launched by the German state and its federal governments. Today, the Cluster has about 200 researchers who examine the processes of exchange between the cultures, ranging from migration and trade to the formation of concepts and institutions. A central question is in which dynamics the transcultural processes between and within Asia and Europe develop.
