Phi Kappa National Fraternity (??) is a secondary school fraternity that was founded in 1900 at the Southern University Preparatory School in Greensboro, Alabama. Over the years, nearly fifty chapters of Phi Kappa have been chartered in cities across the Deep South, from Georgia to Texas, Arkansas to Florida. No chapters of the fraternity have ever been chartered outside of the old Confederacy, making Phi Kappa the oldest and largest exclusively Southern fraternity. In the past two decades, the membership of Phi Kappa has been concentrated in a handful of chapters in Mississippi and Alabama. At this time, the fraternity is largely dormant with only four known active chapters: Alpha Omega in New Orleans, Gamma Tau in Gautier, Miss., Nu Gamma in Ocean Springs, Miss. and Omega Tau in St. Martin, Miss. Lambda in Mobile, Alabama is still in existence, but has not been considered part of the fraternity for years due to their lack of involvement...
