The Jicamarca Radio Observatory (JRO) is the equatorial anchor of the Western Hemisphere chain of Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR) observatories extending from Lima, Peru to Sondre Stromfjord, Greenland. JRO is the premier scientific facility in the world for studying the equatorial ionosphere.
