Nonferrous Archaeometallurgy in the Southern Levant provides a short outline of the history of nonferrous metal technology in this area from approximately 4500BC to 1000BC. The archaeology of metals (or as it is called today—archaeometallurgy) is a research branch of archaeology and is as old as the methodological archaeological research itself. The first stage in the study of ancient metals was arranging the finds according to shape, size, material, and function.
