Milford Wayne Donaldson; (born August 13, 1943) is currently the Chairman of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) and a noted preservation architect licensed to practice in three states. Over the last thirty-five years, Milford Wayne Donaldson has established himself as a leader in historic preservation and the adaptive reuse of existing historic structures. In June 2010 President Barack Obama appointed Donaldson to be Chairman of the ACHP, the nation’s lead agency on historic preservation. Additionally, Donaldson was the first architect to serve as California’s State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) from April 2004 until September 2012.
