He has scored centuries (100 or more runs in a single innings) in Test and One Day International (ODI) matches, on twenty-two and nine occasions respectively. As of 1 January 2013, Pietersen has played 92 Tests and 127 ODIs for England, scoring 7,414 and 4,184 runs respectively and is the youngest batsmen to score 5,000 or more runs in Test cricket. His performances in the 2005 Ashes series led to Pietersen being named one of five Wisden Cricketers of the Year for 2006 and being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2006 New Year Honours.
