Salazar attended Lycee Louis-le-Grand a prestigious secondary school in Paris before studying philosophy, politics and literature at the Ecole Normale Superieure. Currently a distinguished Professor of Rhetoric and Humane Letters at the University of Cape Town. Salazar writes a regular column on French public intellectual, online magazine Les Influences.. He also edits a series on the Powers of Persuasion, at prestigious Klincksieck, the oldest publishing house in the social sciences in France. A former director of AfricaRhetoric Publishing .
