Occupy Bath is an ongoing peaceful protest and demonstration against economic inequality and corporate greed that began initially with an encampment on 30 October 2011 in Queen Square, Bath, England. The camp was dismantled on 10 December 2011, however the campaigners continue to support the Occupy Movement via pop-up occupations and the Occupy-inspired Bath People's Assembly. The protest, part of the international Occupy Movement, began in solidarity with the Egyptians in Tahrir Square, the Spanish Indignants, Occupy Wall Street and Occupy London. Occupy Bath identify themselves as being "not necessarily anti-capitalist" but rather "pro-economic fairness and pro-direct democracy”.
