Robert "Bob" Ford (born September 10, 1937) an American football coach, former player, former college athletics administrator, and former coach of lacrosse, golf, and wrestling. He is the current head football coach at the University at Albany located in Albany, New York. Albany dropped its club team after the 1924 season. A 46-year absence followed before the university restored the football team. Ford was appointed as the head coach on April 27, 1970 where he has remained since. The Great Danes compete in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision; they completed a tenure of 14 seasons in the Northeast Conference in 2012 and will move for football only to the Colonial Athletic Association in 2013. From 1965 to 1968, Ford served as the head football coach at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
