Jessica Ulrika Meir is a post-doctoral researcher in comparative physiology with the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She has a Ph.D. in marine biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. She has studied the diving physiology and behavior of emperor penguins in Antarctica, and the physiology of bar-headed geese, which are able to migrate over the Himalayas. She formerly worked for Lockheed Martin Space Operations as an experiment support scientist for the Human Research Facility at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas.
