He is currently the Chief Information Officer of the City University of Hong Kong, a leading comprehensive research university which has been ranked among the world’s top 10 young universities according to the 2011 QS World University Rankings. Chun is a member of the University Management Board, and is responsible for all aspects of the University's ICT infrastructure, systems and services. He joined the City University of Hong Kong in 1994, and is a tenured Associate Professor in Computer Science. He was appointed to the Chief Information Officer position in 2009.
