Zlin Film Festival, also known as the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (Czech: Mezinarodni festival filmu pro deti a mladez) is a film festival for young audiences, and is one of the oldest festivals of its kind in the world. Due to the dramatic expansion of its scope over the last few years, it can also be counted among the largest film events of its kind worldwide. The last edition saw the record-breaking attendance of more than 100,000 visitors and the number of films reached 571 from 52 countries. The festival traditionally takes place in the Eastern part of the Czech Republic and is held every year at the turn of May and June. Since its 48th edition, which took place 1–8 June 2008, it has been extended to 8 days. The festival is a member of the CIFEJ and ECFA professional organizations.
