National Chambal Sanctuary, also called the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary, is a 5,400 km2 (2,100 sq mi) protected area for critically endangered Gharial Crocodiles and the Red-crowned roof turtle and the endangered Ganges River Dolphin. Located near Bhind in Madhya Pradesh, North India. It was declared in 1978 and constitutes a long narrow tri-state eco-reserve co-administered by the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
