Born in New Rochelle, New York, Perciasepe is a graduate of Cornell University and the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. Before being nominated as the Assistant Administrator of the EPA by President Barack Obama in 2009, Perciasepe was named the Chief Operating Officer at the environmental conservation non-profit National Audubon Society in 2004, also working as the Senior Vice President and head of the Washington D.C. office at the association. Perciasepe previously worked in the EPA during the Clinton Administration as the Assistant Administrator for Water, and Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation.
