The organization was formed in Hawaii, in the United States, but operates on Hainan Island, China. The organization directs actions towards public education, policy change through government and academic sources, support of conservation-focused ecotourism, and the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of endangered sea turtles confiscated from poachers.
