High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Pokemon Puzzle League is a puzzle game for the Nintendo 64 console. It is based on Nintendo's Panel de Pon puzzle games, but with Pokemon likenesses. It was only available in North America starting in 2000, and in Europe in 2001, making it the first Pokemon game produced for North America first. The game was not available in Japan because it is based on the English dub of the anime; the Japanese received the game's Game Boy Color counterpart, Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. It is the only Pokemon game to be based on the Pokemon anime universe, and to feature Ash Ketchum, the anime's protagonist.
