We have only one word for love in English. The Greeks had several: • Eros - ‘erotic love’ is based on strong feelings toward another, usually in the first stages of a ‘romantic’ relationship. • Philia - love of friends, family, or community • Agape - the unconditional love of God. • Storge – love of parents for their children.
