Pinehurst High School was a 1946 entry into the ranks of North Carolina Six-Man Football and continued until the game was discontinued after the 1958 season. While they won no titles, they were a tough competitive team competing with the likes of three of the top teams in the area which included state champions, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and Candor. A bonus section is included for the girl's basketball team from 1945-1969, which was the golden years of girl's basketball before consolidation changed the game to boy's rules.
