The History of Six-Man Football in North Carolina in Wilson County includes the High Schools of Elm City, Rock Ridge, Saratoga, Lucama, Gardners and Stantonsburg. The sport was first introduced in the fall of 1948 and ran until the final year of the sport. One school produced a Governor of the state while another produced probably the best six-man player of the era [led the ACC in rushing}.
