On a perfect summer's day in Paris, tourists on a boat trip on the Seine watch in horror as drama unfolds. A small boy has fallen overboard and disappeared below the surface of the water, while on deck his mother stands frozen to the spot, unable to act. As the 'Man Overboard' cry goes up another passenger leaps into the river and risks his own life to make an extraordinary rescue. The child is returned unharmed to his mother and the hero reunited with his wife ? his wife of only a few days, for the couple are in Paris on their honeymoon. It should be a happy ending for all concerned ? except no one is able to let go of the episode.
