Graphic works by Mikhail Shvartsman are presented for the first time as a separate independent branch of the oeuvre, in isolation from hieratic painting - the main cause of the artist's life. The publication comprises about 150 drawings, covering the period from 1949 to 1987. The graphic works present three main periods of Mikhail Shvartsman's oeuvre (excluding the earliest, realistic one): "Figurative Art" (Suspensions), "Countenance" (Meta-Portraits) and "Hieratures". Besides the album of the images, the publication includes texts of the author, short biography and an article on the oeuvre of Mikhail Shvartsman. The book is prepared on the initiative of the Shvartsman Heritage Art Foundation that aims not only to preserve and study the artist's creative heritage, but also to contribute to the exhibition and publishing activity in the context of modern art.
