American Artists from Russian Empire is the most complicated and most challenging exhibit that the Foundation has been involved in. The project has gone through significant evolution since its beginnings several years ago and it has been since its beginnings a cooperative venture with our extraordinary colleagues at the State Russian Museum, who first proposed the idea of this project and have worked with us now for several years. Beginning the project, we had no idea how great the volume of material was that we had to work through. In the course of the project we had to resolve a whole range of problems.
