This is part of a four-skills programme for adult and young adult learners of American English. It is a six-level programme, comprising three separate two-book courses - Gateways , Transitions and Explorations - that take the student from beginner to intermediate level. Gateways is the beginner level, written specifically for adult beginners, and provides a solid grounding in the basics (systematic building of vocabulary and grammar), along with key conversation management and other strategies that allow students to use new language with confidence.
