High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Epipremnum is a genus of sub-tropical plants that is a perennial vine, that is often confused with other Monstereae such as Rhaphidophora aurea (Lindl. Andre) Birdsey. All parts of the plants are toxic, mostly due to trichosclereids (long sharp cells) and raphides. The species may have originated in Southeast Asia. Plants can grow to over 40' (12m) or more with leaves up to 3' (0.9m) long, but in containers the size is much reduced. The plant, commonly known as 'Centipede Tongavine' or 'Pothos' or 'Devil's ivy', depending on species, is typically grown as an ornamental and often cultivated as house plants that can be propagated from cuttings. Juvenile leaves are bright green with irregularly variegated patterns of yellow or white.
