High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! John the Baptist (Hebrew: ????? ??????, Yo?anan ha-mma?bil, Arabic: ????? ????????? Yuhanna al-ma?madan, Aramaic: ????? Yo?anan) (c. 6 BC – c. AD 36) was an itinerant preacher and a major religious figure mentioned in the Canonical gospels. John is regarded as a prophet in Christianity, Islam, the Baha'i Faith, and Mandaeism.
