Williams High School, one of the flagship schools of the Alamance-Burlington School System, is a high school (grades 9-12) in Burlington, North Carolina. The school was named in honor of philanthropist, industrialist, and former Burlington City Schools chairman Walter M. Williams. The school will enter its seventh decade of operation on August 25, 2011. As of the spring of 2010, nationalities represented in the student body in recent years included the United States, Kosovo, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, El Salvador, Greece, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand (Maori), Nicaragua, Pakistan, Palestine, Peru, and Vietnam. Demographically, the student population is 52% white, 32% African-American, 10% Hispanic, 4% Asian, and 2% multiracial.
