High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Rob Spence (born October 10, 1958) is the former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Syracuse under Doug Marrone. S Prior to coming to Syracuse, he served as offensive coordinator at Clemson, Toledo, Louisiana Tech, and Hofstra. From 1992-1996, he coached quarterbacks at Maryland under Mark Duffner. He had previous experience coaching quarterbacks at Holy Cross, Hofstra, Iona, and Pelham Memorial High School. Spence is an avid runner and participated in the 2004 Boston Marathon. He played tight end at Iona from 1978–1981 and earned a BS in social work. Spence was fired by interim head coach Dabo Swinney from the Clemson program after head coach Tommy Bowden resigned on October 13, 2008. On December 18, 2008, Spence was introduced as the new Offensive Coordinator at Syracuse University.
