It was in 1831 that appeared in St. Petersburg Evenings in the hamlet, published afraid Rudy Panko, bee breeder. Behind this moniker hides a writer of twenty-two years, using his childhood memories and folklore of Ukraine. Gogol immediately became famous with these short stories that appeal to both the public and popular Pushkin: "This is the true joy, genuine, without constraint."
