Born in Madird, La Ribot is an internationally acclaimed artist, dancer and choreographer. Her best kniown work, Piezas distinguidas (1993-2003), culminated with Panoramix , a retrospective of the 34 distinguished pieces created over 10 years and presented at the Tate Modern (London), the Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid )and the Centre Pompidou (Paris). Her video work has been exhibited in the Museo Serrralves in Portugal, the Soledad Lorenzo Gallery (Madrid), the South London Gallery (London) and the Ita Cultural (Brasil). She organised in Madrid (1997-2001) Desviaciones, a meeting point of interdisciplinary deviations of contemporary dance and went on to receive the National Prize for Dance (2000) of the Spanish Ministry of Culture. After living and working in London, she moved to Geneva where she now teaches at the Geneva School of Fine Arts.
