Begun in 1973, in a cultural marked by the emergence of new artistic behaviors, the Herbert Collection contains work by 45 international artists, most of them associated with the conceptual, minimal or Arte Povera movements from Europe and the US during the 1970s. The Collection continues to grow and now includes works by younger artists. Featured are: Marcel Broodthaers, Mario Merz, Jannis Kounellis, Gilbert & George, and Sol Lewitt.
