The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofa presents the installationLa lengua de los pjaros (The Language of Birds) by Eva Lootz, the Austrian artist, resident in Spain. It's about a project that reflects on the border between culture and nature, in this case, the transit of the all-time history, the limited zone where the human and animal sound manifestations meet: music and bird singing. To achieve the project, the artist transformed the Crystal Palace of The Retiro Park into a big birdcage, in which the public was able to listen, through speakers, the recordings of various kinds of birds such as finches, blackbirds and nightingales. At the same time, inside the compound there was a screen in a big coffin, which plays the sound interventions by Pedro Bonet andWade Matthews.
