The kindly one-town nation he celebrated was internalized by The Post 's readers, who saw Rockwell's pictures and reacted with the words That's us! Immensely popular in his own time and beyond, collected by some of the most famous names in American popular culture, Rockwell long ago attained the status of an icon.
