Terence "Terry" Cooper (born 11 March 1950) is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Born in Croesyceiliog, Cooper made 434 appearances in the Football League for Newport County, Notts County, Lincoln City, Scunthorpe United, Bradford City and Rochdale. Newport County Association Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Newport, South Wales. The club participates in the Conference National, the fifth tier of English football. Founded in 1912 the club were founder members of the Football League's new Third Division in 1920.
