Tina Ellertson (born Christina Jo Frimpong on 20 May 1982, in Vancouver, Washington) is an American soccer defender currently playing for magicJack of Women's Professional Soccer and has played for the United States women's national soccer team. Born Christina Jo Frimpong, Ellertson grew up in Vancouver, Washington, a child of a Nigerian mother and a Ghanaian father who emigrated to the U.S. She played soccer throughout her childhood and signed to go to the Santa Clara University, but instead went to the University of Washington. The decision was hard since at age 18, she gave birth to her daughter, MacKenzie.
