Allan Cooke is a former Australian rules football player who played in the VFL between 1949 and 1958 for the Richmond Football Club. He was also a long time Committee member of the Club. He was made a life member of Richmond in 1958 and was inducted in to the Club's Hall of Fame in 2006. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the highest-level professional competition in the sport of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body, and is responsible for controlling the Laws of the Game. The league was founded as the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1897, consisting of six breakaway teams from the Victorian Football Association (VFA).
