Ryan (born 24 July 1907) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Originally from Carnegie, Ryan played his football at Hawthorn as a rover. He was Hawthorn's leading goal-kicker in 1931 and 1932, with 39 and 37 goals respectively. Australian rules football, officially known as Australian football, also called football, footy or Aussie rules (and in some regions calleda??erroneouslya??AFL, after the Australian Football League, the only fully professional Australian rules football league) is a sport played between two teams of 22 players (18 on the field, and four interchanges) on either an Australian rules football ground, a modified cricket field or another modified sports venue.
