William 'Bill' Dalton (born 23 April 1872) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). A dual premiership player, Dalton played beside his younger brother Jack in Fitzroy's 1898 premiership team and was a half forward flanker in the premiership the following season. Australian rules football, officially known as Australian football, also called football, footy or Aussie rules (and in some regions calleda??erroneouslya??AFL, after the Australian Football League, the only fully professional Australian rules football league) is a sport played between two teams of 22 players (18 on the field, and four interchanges) on either an Australian rules football ground, a modified cricket field or another modified sports venue.
