Al-Riffa Sports Club is a Bahraini football club based in Riffa, playing in the top division of Bahraini football. The club was founded in 1953 by the Kingdom's Prime Minister, HH Sh. Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. The club share the Bahrain National Stadium with four other clubs. The club's first international achievement was in 1982 when Riffa placed second in the GCC Club Cup under the leadership of Sh. Ebrahim bin Khalid Al Khalifa and his chairman Sh. Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. This was an important achievement for the club and Bahraini football in general as it helped the region take notice of the talent available in Bahrain.
