Gregory Dominic Abowd is a computer scientist best known for his work in ubiquitous computing, software engineering, and technologies for autism. He is a distinguished professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he joined the faculty in 1994. Gregory Abowd was born on September 12, 1964 and raised in Farmington Hills, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Honors Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame in 1986. He attended the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom as a Rhodes Scholar, where he received his M.Sc. in 1987 and his D.Phil. in 1991, both in the field of Computation.
