It lists the highest attendance of all 92 English Football League and Premier League clubs for a home match. The vast majority of these records were achieved before the advent of the Taylor Report, which resulted in the construction of all-seater stadia that typically have lower capacities than the terraced grounds they replaced. In several cases records were achieved at a former ground rather than the club's current location. For example Bolton Wanderers' record was set at Burnden Park, not their current home, the Reebok Stadium.
