Pentti Pesonen was a former Finnish cross country skier who competed in the early 1960's. He earned a silver medal in the 4 x 10 km at the 1962 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane. Cross-country skiing (commonly abbreviated XC skiing) is a winter sport in which participants propel themselves across snow-covered terrain using skis and poles. It is popular in many places with large snowfields, primarily Northern Europe, Canada, and Alaska.
