September 25, 1962) was an American football player. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954. Jerry was "All-Southern in sophmore year All-American in his Junior and Senior Year at Tulane University. In 1931 he was the only unanimous All-American in the country. In 2010 he was still the only unanimous All-American from Tulane University. In 1931 he was Tulane's football captain the year they went to the Rose Bowl as National Champions. Later he went to Louisiana State University where he earned a Master's degree in Education.
