Maria emprende, junto con su madre, la dura tarea de fundar un semanario femenino. Fausto, estudiante de leyes, se convierte en reportero del recien fundado periodico. Ambos jovenes comienzan un romance en el que representaran casi todo el teatro de las mujeres y hombres porfirianos: los anhelos profesionales y del hogar, las trabas para la instruccion femenina, el mundo de la prostitucion. / Maria, along with her mother, starts the hard task of founding a women's weekly magazine. Fausto, a law student, becomes the newly founded newspaper s reporter. Both youngsters enter into a romance in which they represent almost very male-female role: women and men; professional and home goals; barriers to female education, and the world of prostitution.
