Coffee production has over the years declined worldwide which experts has attributed partly to global warming and declined prices on world market. The collapse of the international coffee agreement in the 1990s and the liberalization of most world economies opened up coffee industry to the private sector. As such coffee prices have remained so low discouraging most farmers to increase their production levels and even quality. In Uganda the establishment of Coffee Development Authority in 1992 was warmly welcomed with a hope of reviving the glory the crop had had in the past. Besides this, there are some many other private companies and Non-governmental organizations working in the field of coffee development. They include NUCAFE,Gumutindo, Kyagalanyi and many others.
