English summary: Philipp Otto Runge (1777-1818) is one of the most important painters of German Romanticism. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his death, this Proceedings presents the current state of research through a number of contributions and many images. The works of Philipp Otto Runge were of central importance to the development of German Romanticism. Runge served as a role model to many as he sought for continuous renewal in his work. His theory of color was not only of relevance for the artists at the Bauhaus, but was reflected upon again and again well into the 20th Century.
