This book presents an in-depth study of the adoption of emerging integration technologies in organisations by comparatively analysing the adoption factors between Small to Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) and large companies. Theories that support the research are innovation diffusion and resource-based theories, which are synthesised in order to conceptualise a model that can be used to explain the different factors that influence the integration technologies adoption between SMEs and large organisations. The empirical context of the research is one project on the industrial automation, which was executed in Taiwan by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Technology Department, and had the objective in helping IT industry to adopt integration technologies to construct an integrated infrastructure of supply chains.
