Created to accompany British artist/filmmaker Emily Wardill's solo exhibition windows broken, break, broke together, this rich book (presented as blueprints for three public lectures by Wardill and curator Ian White), uses distinctly different approaches to propose alternative routes through the artist's work, all framed as an ongoing dialog between the authors. Fragmented by dialogic turns, appropriated texts, images, a score and quotations, and containing extensive reproductions of Wardill's work, the book's content and design reflects the labyrinthine, and sometimes hallucinogenic quality of her films and their radical combination of form, content and idea. An innovative and satisfying approach to embodying the work of a complex and compelling artist between the covers of a book.
